Punxsy Police Calls: Public Drunkenness, DUI

arrestedPUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Borough Police responded to the following police calls:

Punxsutawney Man Accused of Public Drunkenness

Police say an incident of public drunkenness occurred at Ye Ole Stone House on Ridge Avenue in Punxsutawney.

According to police, James Adams, Jr., 51, of Punxsutawney, was cited for Public Drunkenness after he allegedly appeared in Ye Ole Stone House restaurant in an intoxicated condition.

DUI Drug Related Incident

Police say around 7:04 p.m. on September 17, police received a complaint of a reckless driver near Sheetz in Elk Run. The vehicle was located and stopped on Union Street.

Upon investigation, it was found that a known man had been under the influence, according to police.

Upon receiving lab reports, it was confirmed that the known man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance, police say.

Charges for DUI and Driving on Right Side of Roadway were filed with Judge Chambers’ office on October 13, according to police.
