Punxsy Woman Accused of Attempting to Kick, Bite Officers While Intoxicated

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney woman is facing felony assault and related charges for reportedly attempting to kick and bite probation officers during an incident in Brookville.

Court documents indicate the Brookville Borough Police Department filed the following criminal charges against 47-year-old Jennifer Green:

– Aggravated Assault – Attempts to cause or causes Bodily Injury to designated individuals, Felony 2 (two counts)
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:19 p.m. on October 2, Brookville Borough Police were requested to respond to a business on Allegheny Boulevard for a report of an intoxicated employee.

At the scene, police were directed to a woman working in the back of the business. The manager told police she was concerned the employee was so intoxicated she was going to injure herself.

Police then made contact with the employee, identified as Jennifer Green.

According to the complaint, Green displayed signs of intoxication, including dry mouth with white crusting around the sides of her mouth, and swaying while standing. However, Green reportedly denied the use of any substance or alcohol multiple times. Green was then escorted out of the business.

Officers then discovered Green was on probation through Jefferson County and contacted the probation office. Two probation officers then responded to the scene to transport Green, during which time admitted to being on a barbiturate, according to the complaint.

The individual who reported the situation also told police that Green came into work fine around 5:00 a.m., but was clearly intoxicated after her break.

Around 2:21 p.m., Brookville Police were requested to respond to the parking lot at Penn Highlands Brookville. It was reported that Green had assaulted two probation officers.

Police arrived to find Green being restrained by one of the parole officers in the rear of their vehicle, the complaint states.

The parole officers reported Green had kicked the first officer in the genitals and had attempted to choke herself using the seatbelt. Green also attempted to bite a second officer, then began attempting to kick and bite the officer again, at which time the officers pulled out their tasers and threatened to use them, the complaint states.

Green was then removed from the vehicle, and her hands and legs were cuffed. She attempted to pull her foot away in kicking motions several times and appeared to prepare to spit at the officers but never did so. She was then transported to the Jefferson County Jail, according to the complaint.

It was reported that Green continued to be aggressive and resist orders from officers and staff at the jail. She stated she was going to “kill” all of the people present, which included four parole officers and one police officer, the complaint states.

According to the complaint, Green also stated that she was “forced” to consume alcohol in a waterboard fashion before she went to work and had “pills poured down her throat,” which was contradictory to the report that she seemed sober prior to leaving on her lunch break.

Police were also notified by Jefferson County Probation that they recovered a bottle of spiced rum from the vehicle Green had driven to work. Green had the keys for the vehicle on her person. It was also reported that a cup that smelled of spiced rum was also found inside the vehicle, the complaint indicates.

Green was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 10:02 a.m. on October 27.

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on November 3, with Judge Bazylak presiding.
