According to court documents, the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 39-year-old Danielle Lynn Christian, of Punxsutawney, in District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on Friday, March 22.

According to a criminal complaint, a known male contacted the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department on Wednesday, March 20, regarding a theft that took place on Park Avenue in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.

Patrolman Ryan Miller spoke with the victim, who reported that he went to a location on Park Avenue on December 8 to help Danielle Christian retrieve belongings after she had been in a fight with her boyfriend. During the incident, the victim was taken into custody by Jefferson County Adult Probation. Before leaving, the victim provided his belongings, namely $950.00 in cash, his wallet, and his cell phone to Christian, the complaint states.

The victim reported he instructed Christian to pay his landlord with the provided money so he would still have his residence upon his release from jail. The victim stated he was released from Jefferson County Jail on March 12 and that he made multiple attempts to contact Christian regarding his belongings and to find out if she paid his rent with the money. Yet, the victim’s landlord subsequently informed him she has not received any rent money from Christian, the complaint indicates.

The victim reported Christian has blocked him on social media and will not speak with him, even after leaving her repeated messages to contact him, the complaint notes.

Officer Young reported that he recalled the incident and corroborated the victim’s telling of events. Officer Young stated he tried to discourage the victim from allowing Christian to hold on to his belongings before transporting him to jail, according to the complaint.

The victim reportedly told Officer Young that he trusted Christian and had her retain the property, the complaint states.

An attempt was made to contact Christian regarding this incident, however, it was unsuccessful, the complaint indicates.
