According to Jefferson County Department of Emergency Services Director Tracy Zents, several roads in Jefferson County remain closed on Tuesday.

Those roads include Water Street and Baxter Street in Reynoldsville, South Pan Coast Road Winslow Township, and the intersection of Pike Road and Beaver Road in Henderson Township.

“We expect the roads to reopen later this afternoon after the water recedes,” Zents said.

Zents also noted that three families in Henderson Township chose to evacuate their homes due to the rising Mahoning Creek.

The rains caused multiple issues with trees and power lines down throughout the county on Monday, as well as the flooding of roads and basements.

Summerville Mayor Robert Rupp noted there was also flooding on the south end of Water Street in Summerville.
