Reynoldville Woman Escapes Injury in Two-Vehicle Crash in Venango County

police-car-woodsVENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred Thursday afternoon on Interstate 80 East, near mile marker 34, in Clinton Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say this crash occurred around 4:00 p.m. on April 6 as a 2007 Ford Focus – driven by 28-year-old Melissa A. Corson, of Reynoldsville – was traveling east on I-80. A 2007 Chevrolet Colorado – driven by 44-year-old Jeffrey A. Zappel, of Harrisville – was also traveling in the eastbound lane in front of the Ford.

According to police, Corson became distracted, and her car struck the rear end of the Chevrolet.

Police say both drivers were using seat belts and escaped injuries; however, they were transported for medical evaluation.

Both vehicles were rendered inoperable and were towed from the scene.

Corson was charged with a traffic violation.

Clintonville Fire Department, Emlenton Ambulance Service, Nelson’s Towing, and Tom Hovis Towing assisted at the scene.
