Richard “Dick” Lee Ent

Richard “Dick” Lee Ent, 80, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, as a patient of UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dick was born on May 18, 1937, in Brookville, PA, to the late Warren B. and Mary E. (Dinger) Ent. He graduated from Brookville High School with the class of the class of 1957.

He married the love of his life, Phyllis Ellen Mineweaser, in 1960, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville, PA. Phyllis survives him.

At 22 years old, he began working at the Pittsburgh and Shawmut Railroad and he stayed with them for 44 years and retired in 1999.

Dick was a very hard worker professionally and within his home. He would selflessly volunteer his time and talents providing service to his friends and neighbors. Dick was a long-time member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville, PA. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lion’s Club.

Dick was a very Christian man that led his life and raised his family with strong Christian values. The love he shared with his family will be forever remembered and cherished especially among his children and grandchildren; of whom he cared for deeply.

In addition to his wife, Phyllis, Dick is survived by three children; Nanette (Jeff) Cherico of Clarion, PA; Jeffrey Ent of Brookville, PA; Krista (Kevin) Gerlach of Slippery Rock, PA; seven grandchildren; Stephany (James) Dunham, Samantha (Brandon) Greeley, Kayla Ent, Dylan Gerlach, Tiffany Gerlach, Courtney Gerlach, and Ayden Gerlach.

In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his sisters Nellie Shaffer and Betty Duncan, and his brothers Ramsey Ent and Robert Ent.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 129 Graham Avenue, Brookville, PA, on Friday, March 16, 2018, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and officiated by Father William Laska.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825.
