Richard K. “Dick” Courtright

Richard K. “Dick” Courtright, 87, DuBois, passed away Friday, March 28, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born November 28, 1936, in Bradford, PA, he was the son of the late George and Bertha (Paul) Courtright.

On January 20, 1958, he married Sandra (Morgan) Courtright in Bradford, PA. She survives.

Dick graduated from Bradford High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In his working years, he was employed by Fairman Drilling, UPS, and Preston Trucking as a truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking to create hand-turned gorgeous bowls, hunting, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, and learning about military history. Dick was a member of the American Legion and the Pulaski. He was Protestant by faith.

In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by three children, Richard (Bridget) Courtright, SC, Rhonda (Mark) Witherite, Bellefonte, and Kelli Read, GA; six grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley) Courtright, Dara Courtright, Kayla (Nick) Kapinus, Janyl (Clifton) Gauthreaux, Marci (Greg) Witherite, and Jaymon Read; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Courtright, UT, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ronald Courtright, a grandson, Sgt. Brandon Read, and seven siblings.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. from the Adamson Funeral Chapel & Crematorium. A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. with LaMarr Adamson CLP officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.  Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
