Robert V. Glass, Jr.

Robert V. Glass, Jr. Age 78 of Penfield, PA died Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his home.

Born on May 11, 1940 in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of the late Robert V. & Margaret (Bundy) Glass, Sr.

On February 17, 1962, he married Billis (Mellott) Glass. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2008.

Bob retired in 2000 from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker #5 after 32 years of service. He recently received his 50-year membership pin to the I.B.E.W.

He was a life member of the Penfield Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief from 1977 until 2003. He was a lifetime member of the Penfield Free Methodist Church, enjoyed the beach, going to camp, and swimming at the DuBois YMCA. Bob was a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association, and enjoyed bowling and was a Pennsylvania State Champion in doubles bowling. He loved his dog Harvey and took him to Rosie’s Diner daily.

Bob is survived by a daughter (Rhanda Charles & her husband Denny of DuBois, PA), 2 sons (Robert V. “Rick” Glass, III & his wife Rhonda of Force, PA; and Ryan Glass & his wife Lynne of DuBois, PA), 6 grandchildren (Samantha Higgs, and Robbie, Rachel, Brady, Reese, & Lexi Glass) 2 great grandchildren (Avery & Aiden Higgs), and a sister in law (Barbara Giuffre & her husband Donald of Clearfield, PA).

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m.at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed with the Penfield Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 53, and/or the Bennett’s Valley Ambulance, 12479 Bennett’s Valley Highway, both in Penfield, PA 15849.
