Teen Driver Injured in Rollover Crash in Bell Township

BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a one-car accident occurred around 7:56 a.m. on May 17, on State Route 119, 1148 feet west of Brown Bridge Drive, in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a 17-year-old male, of Rossiter, was traveling south on SR 119 in a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta and lost control of the car while negotiating a left curve on the wet roadway.

The car struck the embankment with its rear end which caused it to overturn. It came to a final rest on the roof facing west.

The teen suffered minor injuries.

The car sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene by Southside Towing.

Jefferson County EMS and Punxsutawney Fire Departments assisted at the scene.

The teen was charged with a traffic violation.
