Ronald Charles Sheriff Sr.

Ronald Charles Sheriff Sr., 79, of DuBois, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his residence.

Born September 8, 1935, in Punxsutawney,Pa. he was the son of Charles Solomon and Amanda C. Heitzenrater Sheriff.

He was married to Anna May “Andy” Chesley Sheriff of DuBois, who survives.

Ronald is also survived by two stepsons, Richard Heitzenrater and friend Linda of Punxsutawney and Ronald “Boo” Heitzenrater of Maryland; and nine grandchildren.

Ronald was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School. He was in the U.S. Army. He was a past owner of an appliance store in Punxsutawney for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois, as well as a member of the Rosary Society. He was also an active volunteer at the DuBois Nursing Home.

The Rosary will be said by the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Rosary Society at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois.

Friends will be received from 3:30 to 6 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015, and from 10 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of DuBois.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Edward Walk as celebrant.

Military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard at the cemetery.
