Routes 28, 219 Brockway Intersection Resurfacing Project to Begin April 1 in Brockway Borough

BROCKWAY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – PennDOT is announcing a resurfacing project, as part of the intersection improvement in Brockway Borough, which will begin on April 1 at the intersection of Route 28 and Route 219.

This project began work in mid-November of 2023.

During this phase of the project, which will conclude at the end of July, there will be lane restrictions during daylight hours along with long-term temporary traffic patterns at the Route 28 (Main Street) and Route 219 (Clark Street) intersections.

A temporary traffic signal, traffic barriers, and signs will be in place to direct motorists. All left turns will be temporarily eliminated during this phase of construction. The contractor will be removing the concrete island along the Route 219 North ramp near Sheetz.

This project includes resurfacing and minor drainage work, between Pershing Street and the intersection of Route 28 and Route 219. Also included are intersection improvements at the intersection of Route 28 and Route 219 including utility relocations, an updated traffic signal, sidewalk reconstruction, drainage updates, and other miscellaneous construction.

Contractor, Francis J. Palo, Inc., of Clarion, will be completing this $3 million project that will conclude at the end of October.
