Ruth A. Pearce

Ruth A. Pearce, age 73, Luthersburg Rockton Road, Luthersburg, PA died Monday, January 18, 2016 at her home.

Born September 13, 1942 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the Herbert & Kathleen (Bennett) Haag.

On January 26, 1963, she married Norman R. Pearce. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2011.

She, along with her husband, operated the Curwensville Tastee Freez for many years.

She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross and the DuBois Area Historical Society. She loved to travel, go camping and enjoyed fishing. Most of all, she loved being with her family.

Ruth is survived by two children: Ralph E. Pearce of San Diego, CA and Marsha J. DePello of Luthersburg, PA, three brothers, Larry Haag and his wife, Jan of Punxsutawney, PA, Thomas Haag of Reynoldsville, PA and Darrell Haag and his wife, Marilyn of DuBois, PA; two step sisters, Elaine Vickland and Joanne Weaver; two grandchildren, Rebecca Weber and Jessica Rockwell and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Schaffer, a step brother, William Weaver, and a stepmother, Lorraine Weaver.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11 A.M. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Newell officiating.

Burial will be in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
