Samuel Rex Butler Jr., 66, of Sykesville, PA, passed away during the evening hours of Thursday, October 7, 2021, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
He was born on February 2, 1955, to the late Samuel R. Sr., and Marjorie (Sullivan) Butler in Lackawanna, NY.
Samuel graduated from DuBois High School.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Valerie Mae Cathcart, who shared the last forty years with him.
Samuel loved sports and was known to watch everything, his favorites were football, racing and golf.
He was also a lover of the outdoors and an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, Samuel is survived by five children; Candi McFaye, and her husband, Gordon; William Butler; Samantha Butler; Brian Butler; and Robert Butler.
Family and friends will be received from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851.
