Sandra I. Swanger, 74, Punxsutawney, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at home.
She was born November 6, 1942, in Danville, PA, a daughter of the late Cora (Stevenson) and Orval Neitz, Sr.
On March 15, 1969, she married John A. Swanger, who survives.
She was a graduate of the Danville High School and a member of the First Church of God of Punxsutawney.
She enjoyed cooking, church, ministry, and loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her family.
In addition to her husband John, she is survived by four children, Tammy Bish and husband David R. of Punxsutawney, Traci Furman and husband Daniel of Punxsutawney, Bryan Swanger and wife Wendy of Mifflinburg, PA, and Tracy Beachel and husband Jim of Middleburg, PA; eleven grandchildren, Desiree Furman, Skylar Bish, Austin Furman and wife Courtney, Dakota Bish, Blake Beachel, Adam and Timothy Swanger, Brittney Andres, Brooklyn and Breeyon Beachel, and Lakota Russell; five great grandchildren, Chase and Gage Andres, Savannah and Journee Bentley, and Jada Moran; one brother, Martin Neitz and wife Joyce of Danville, PA; and six sisters, Emma Showers of Brookings, OR, Lorena Showers of Danville, PA, Lennie Hock and husband Bob of Millville, PA, Ruth Heimbach of Milton, PA, Connie Young and husband Carlton of Benton, PA, and Thelma Morris and husband Sam of Danville, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Orval Neitz, Jr, Fred Neitz, Harry Neitz, Carl Neitz, and Robert Neitz.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, and from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Hopkins officiating.
Interment will be in Oliveburg Cemetery.
