Sandra Kay Hathaway, 69, of Rimersburg, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at her home.
She was born on March 22, 1947, in Brookville, Pa., the daughter of Earl and Hazel L. (Stewart) Ishman.
Sandra married Calvin C. Hathaway on March 8, 1964, and supported him and his service in the Army. During this time, she lived all over the world, including Florida, North Carolina, Massachusetts, California, Texas, Germany and Pennsylvania. Sandra liked experiencing the many different cultures but was happy to come home to Pennsylvania in her later years. After returning, she worked for 20 years as a nursing assistant at Clarview Nursing Home. Sandra was of the Baptist faith and in her free time enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzles and playing computer games.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Brian J. Hathaway and wife, Susan, of Clarion, and Jeffery A. Hathaway and wife, Becky, of Medford, OR; daughter, Suzann A. Guth and husband, Jody, of Shippenville; grandchildren, Andrew Hathaway, Jessica Hathaway, Alexander Hathaway, Hunter Hathaway, Christy James, Elizabeth James and Mason Guth; and brothers, Raymond P. Ishman, of New Bethlehem, James E. Ishman, of Fairmount City, and Robert C. Ishman, of Texas.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Calvin C. Hathaway, who died in 1986.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 PM on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Distant, Pa.
