Sarah “Sally” Leona (Weaver) Carrier, age 77, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016, in the comfort of her bedroom, as a resident of the McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA.
Sally was born on October 4, 1939, to the late Robert K. and Mary E. (Pendleton) Weaver, in Brookville, PA. On September 15, 1973, she married Joseph B. “Bart” Carrier, and they shared 36 years together before his passing on January 26, 2009.
Sally graduated from Brookville High School as a member of the class of 1959. She had a work history that was centered around advertising and primarily she was in sales; she was able to retire at the age of 62. Sally was a Christian woman and she attended a few different congregations in the area. She was also a social woman and she enjoyed being around others, whether it was participating in quilting with the local quilting groups in Brookville, or it was playing in her card club, which she loved; especially 500. She loved having and participating in tea party’s with her niece Deborah. She enjoyed being on the go and she looked forward to traveling to different places, even back and forth across the country by car. Sally liked to garden and she always had a beautiful Perennial display. Her talents, love for life, and energy will be missed.
Sally is survived by 2 nephews; Robert (Barbara) Weaver, Ronald (Carole) Weaver; 1 niece; Deborah Weaver; and 1 sister-in-law; Ruth Weaver. In addition to her husband and parents, Sally is preceded in death by1 brother; Robert E. Weaver.
Family and friends will be received from 10am – 12 noon, on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825.
A funeral service will immediately follow the viewing on Saturday at the funeral home, beginning at 12 noon, and officiated by the Rev. Dennis Johnson.
Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the McKinley Health Center, 133 Laurelbrooke Dr., Brookville, PA, 15825.
