Say What?!: Burmese Python Captured in Florida Could Be a Record-Setter

FLORIDA – Two Florida hunters believe the snake could break the state-record of 18.8 feet once it is measured.

Ryan Ausburn, a South Florida Water Management District contractor who is tasked with controlling the invasive Burmese python population in the Everglades, said he and his roommate captured the creature during a recent late-night hunt. The snake will be officially weighed and measured this week.
