Say What?!: Gladstone the Cat to Defend British Treasury from Mice

CatLONDON – The British Treasury has joined Downing Street and the Foreign Office in naming a rescue cat to the office of Chief Mouser.

Gladstone the cat will join longtime government employee Larry and fellow new addition Palmerston in defending Britain’s government offices from mice.

“Hello! I’m Gladstone, a charming, 18 month-old Domestic Short Hair (which makes me a moggie),” he wrote in an introductory Instagram post. “I recently moved into my new home at Her Majesty’s Treasury, where I’ll be tackling their mice problem.”
