UPDATE: Situation at Creekside Residence Resolved

CREEKSIDE, Pa. – Police say a situation that occurred on Monday at a residence in Creekside Borough has been resolved.

Early Monday, Indiana-based State Police were requested to conduct a welfare check of the known adult individual at a residence in Creekside Borough, Indiana County.

According to police, the initial information gathered indicated that the person was armed and barricaded alone inside the residence.

Police then attempted to make contact with the individual but were unsuccessful.

Due to the circumstances, the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was requested to respond and assist.

Residents in the immediate vicinity were requested to stay indoors, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

The Creekside Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene with traffic control.

Police say the incident was resolved with no threat to the community as of 8:00 p.m. Monday.
