Shirley L. Adams, 71, Walston, passed into heaven at Maybrook Hills in Altoona on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 2, 1947, in Cherry Tree, a daughter of the late Alice (Antes) and Frank J. Adams.
Shirley was a graduate of the Harmony High School. She loved anything outdoors and enjoyed needlework, animals, flowers, and anything purple. She worked at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital in housekeeping and retired after forty-five years.
She is survived by three siblings, brother Kenneth Adams and wife Catherine of Newark, OH, Arletta Mitchell of Duncansville, and Winona McCullough of Duncansville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother Sherman Adams.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2018, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
An additional visitation will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., at the East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church, 1713 Ridge Road, Westover, PA 16692, with Pastor John Balliet officiating.
Interment will be in East Ridge Cemetery, Westover.
