DUBOIS, Pa. – It’s time to Slam and Jam.
With both youth and adult divisions, the Slam Jam 3-on-3 basketball tournament hosted by DJ Chuck and sponsored by the Clearfield-Jefferson Drug Free Communities Coalition, McDonald’s of DuBois, Treasure Lake Ski Lodge and the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League (WPAL) will be held at the DuBois City Park Saturday Aug. 13 with a registration deadline of Friday, Aug. 5.
Registration is 100 percent free for all youth division teams with a $100 registration fee in the open divisions.
The event’s proceeds benefit the Kraig Moore Scholarship Fund and the WPAL DuBois Facility.
The tournament tip-off will be at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 13 with check in being at 7:30 a.m.
From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Treasure Ski Lodge will be providing a chicken BBQ at $10 per person. Also planned is a 3-point shootout and a slam-dunk contest. In addition, the DuBois Dream team from TBL will be making an appearance at this year’s event.
Since 2005, proceeds from this event have contributed to 11 consecutive $1,000 scholarships being awarded to deserving high school students interested in pursuing a career in sports broadcast journalism, Moore’s passion.
