Snow-Covered Roads Cause One-Car Crash on Route 219, Driver Injured

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a one-car accident occurred on State Route 219, 2100 feet south of County Line Road, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 51-year-old William L. Elliott, of DuBois, was traveling southbound on SR 219 and lost control of his 2006 Chevrolet Impala on a snow-covered roadway.

The car began to slide into the oncoming lane of travel, and Elliott applied his brakes, began to spin in a clockwise rotation, and went off the west side of the roadway, police say

The car struck a utility pole and came to a final rest along the west side of the road, according to police.

Elliott suffered minor injuries; he was using a seat belt.

Brockway EMS transported him to Penn Highlands Hospital in DuBois.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The car sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
