Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes into Memorial, Tree in Snyder Twp.

SNYDER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police are investigating a vehicle crash that is believed to be DUI-related.

According to DuBois-based State Police, a 37-year-old woman was operating a vehicle around 7:50 p.m. Saturday on Route 219 in Snyder Township when she lost control of the vehicle and it “became airborne as it left the roadway.”

After the vehicle left the roadway, it crashed into a memorial cross and a tree.

Police said the driver had bloodshot eyes and troopers detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.

The driver’s name was not released.

The investigation continues.
