Softball Roundup: DuBois Beats ECC

ST. MARYS, Pa. (D9Sports) – Sarah Henninger went 3-for-4 and scored twice to help visiting DuBois defeat Elk County Catholic, 11-5 in five innings.

Kaylee Sadowski went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs for the Lady Beavers. Maddie Smith and Taylor Smith each chipped in for a pair of hits. Lauren Walker added a run and drove in three while Saige Weible chipped in for two RBIs.

Michelle Gerber paced the Lady Crusaders going 1-for-2 with a run and RBI.

Weible got the win for DuBois with seven strikeouts and two allowed hits.

Gerber allowed 13 hits and 11 runs while striking out one in the loss for ECC.

JOHNSONBURG 18, BROCKWAY 0, 3 INNINGS

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Alyssa Kasmierski and Jordan Bundy combined to score six runs as Johnsonburg defeated visiting Brockway, 18-0 in three innings.

Kasmierski went 1-for-2 with three runs scored and three RBIs for the Rammettes with Bundy going 1-for-2 with three runs and an RBI. Lindsey Kocjancic scored twice and drove in three runs and Jenna Pavlock had a pair of runs and two RBIs. Julie Peterson and Michaela Herzing each added two runs.

Grace Stewart had the lone hit for the Lady Rovers.

Kocjancic earned the victory for Johnsonburg with four strikeouts and one allowed hit in two innings on the mound.

Morgan Lindemuth took the loss for Brockway and allowed seven hits and 18 runs while striking out one.

CLEARFIELD 9, CURWENSVILLE 1

HYDE, Pa. – Kyra Mollura went 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs and helped Clearfield to a 9-1 victory over visiting Curwensville.

Mollura hit a double and home run for the Lady Bison while Lauren Ressler went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs. Oliva Bender and Emma Hipps each had a pair of hits and a pair of runs.

Bella Giuffre went 2-for-3 and scored the lone run for the Lady Tide while Joslynne Freyer added a pair of hits.

Hipps struck out 15 and allowed eight hits and the lone run in the win for Clearfield.

Freyer took the loss for Curwensville and gave up 12 hits and eight runs while striking out five.

CLARION 9, CLARION-LIMESTONE 1

CLARION, Pa. – Kait Constantino went 4-for-5 and scored a pair of runs and led Clarion to a 9-1 victory over Clarion-Limestone.

Payton Simko hit a double and a triple with a run and three RBIs for the Lady Cats. Lindsey Kemmer and Tori Vega each scored a pair of runs. Ava Kiser had a pair of hits and drove in a score. Carly Best went 2-for-3 and scored once and chipped in for an RBI.

Abby Himes hit a triple and scored the lone run for the Lady Lions.

Constantino struck out 12 and allowed five hits and a run in the win for Clarion.

Megan Stahlman took the loss for C-L and allowed seven hits and six runs while striking out one in four innings on the mound.
