BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 8:40 p.m. on January 7, a rollover accident occurred on State Route 119, at its intersection with Greenhouse Road, in Bell Township, Jefferson County.
According to police, a 17-year-old male was traveling north on SR 119 and failed to negotiate a left hand turn in the roadway.
His 2006 Cadillac CTS began to skid and spun in a counter-clockwise direction. The car skidded across the southbound lane and west berm, striking the embankment approximately 100′ from where it began to skid.
The car then became airborne and struck the embankment again approximately 45′ from the point of initial impact. This caused the vehicle to rollover onto its roof, and in doing so, it rolled over a PennDOT road sign.
The vehicle then skidded on its roof across the west berm and both the southbound and northbound lanes while spinning in a counter-clockwise direction. It came to rest, still on its roof, facing south in the northbound lane approximately 125′ from where it rolled over.
The teen was using a seat belt and stated he was not injured.
Alcohol was not suspected in the crash; however, speed was a factor, according to police.
The teen will be charged with a traffic violation.

Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company and Central Fire Department assisted at the scene.
