Abraxas Employees Raise Money for Local Passages Program

Wal a Mile (1) (1)MARIENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – In 2001 a tradition was started to address sexual violence and confront gender stereotypes and expectations.

‘Walk A Mile In Her Shoes’ began with male supporters putting on red high heels and literally walking a mile. Over the years, the program has expanded as a major fundraiser for agencies that deal with sexual violence.

This year a dozen or so staff members from Abraxas I put on their sneakers instead of high heels and walked to help raise funds for a local Passages Program.

They gathered pledges from family and friends to pay a certain amount for each mile walked. The Abraxas Team came in as the third highest donation!
