Gus was a veteran of the United States Army.
He also served the community through his membership with the Bethel Baptist Church in Sykesville and his involvement with activities at St. Peter’s UCC in Punxsutawney.
Military honors were accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard during his funeral service.
He was laid to rest in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
