Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard for six years.
He also served the community through his longtime role on the Board for Save Our Children of Elyria and memberships in Elyria Kiwanis and the American Legion Post #217.
Elyria VFW Post 211 presented full military honors during his funeral services at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home.
He was laid to rest in the Belden Cemetery in Grafton Township.
