State Police Report Multiple Drug Possession Incidents

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to multiple drug possession incidents recently.

Drug Possession/DUI in Punxsutawney Borough

Around 8:02 p.m. on September 1, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta on East Mahoning Street near North Jefferson Street for a summary traffic violation.

Police say during the stop, probable cause was developed to believe the driver, identified as a 21-year-old Punxsutawney man, was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Charges are pending.

Drug Possession/DUI in Bell Township

Around 1:48 a.m. on September 2, Punxsutawney-based State Police conducted a welfare check on the driver of a 2011 Ford F-350 parked at Cloe Lake.

Police say it was determined the driver, identified as a 45-year-old Glen Campbell man, was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and drug possession.

Drug Possession/DUI in Eldred Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 11:31 p.m. on August 21, a 2015 Dodge Caravan was stopped for a summary traffic violation on State Route 36 in Eldred Township.

According to police, upon further investigation, the driver, identified as a 21-year-old Tarentum man, was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a controlled substance.

Charges are pending blood test results.
