State Police Calls: Police Investigating Suspected DUI Incidents

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following incidents:

DUI in Young Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 10:09 p.m. on March 6, a traffic stop was initiated on a 2015 Dodge RAM 3500 on North Main Street near Dutchtown Road in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the driver, identified as a 47-year-old Marion Center woman, was subsequently arrested for probable cause DUI.

The investigation is ongoing.

The driver’s name was not released.

DUI/Drug Possession in North Mahoning Township

Around 12:43 p.m. on March 8, Punxsutawney-based State Police conducted a traffic stop on State Route 119 in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County, for a speed violation.

Police say during the stop, the driver, identified as a 25-year-old DuBois man, appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to police, before the driver was placed in custody, he consented to a search of the vehicle, and the search discovered suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The name of the driver was not released.

DUI in Burnside Borough

Around 12:21 a.m. on March 8, Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a location on Main Street in Burnside Borough, Clearfield County, for a report of a man who was “acting out” at a residence.

Police say the man admitted to driving home approximately one hour before police arrived.

According to police, due to the man appearing to be under the influence of a controlled substance and having side-swiped an unknown object at some point on his drive home, he was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving under the influence.
