State Police Calls: Prohibited Offensive Weapons, Hit-and-Run, Assault, Drug Possession

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following calls:

Prohibited Offensive Weapons in Washington Township

DuBois-based State Police say Jefferson County Probation did a routine search of an individual’s residence in Washington Township on July 7, and prohibited offensive weapons were found during the search.

DuBois-based State Police then recovered the weapons.

The name of the accused was not released.

Hit-and-Run in Pine Creek Township

According to police, around 2:15 p.m. on July 6, a 2019 Toyota Corolla, operated by 44-year-old Fayssel M. Khabouchi, of Canton, Ohio, and an unknown vehicle were both traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 in Pine Creek Township when the cargo on the unknown vehicle shifted, causing a ladder to fall out of the vehicle. The ladder then struck Khabouchi’s vehicle, causing cosmetic damage to the front end of the vehicle.

The unknown vehicle proceeded eastbound without stopping.

Assault in Falls Creek Borough

Around 12:05 a.m. on June 21, DuBois-based State Police investigated a domestic violence incident on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County.

Police say upon investigation, 53-year-old James Pyne, of DuBois, and 28-year-old Craig Pyne, of Falls Creek, were both arrested for simple assault and harassment.

Both men were lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

Charges are pending through District Court 54-3-02.

Drug Possession in Young Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 12:55 a.m. on June 27, 27-year-old Luke Lindsey, of Johnstown, was found sitting in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee along State Route 310 in Young Township, attempting to intravenously inject methamphetamine.

According to police, Lindsey was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia.

He was subsequently lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
