State Police Calls: DUIs, Harassment

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Bell Township

Around 9:33 p.m. on July 20, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Buick Rendezvous on Elderberry Hill Road and State Route 36 in Bell Township, Jefferson County, for a traffic violation.

Police say the driver, identified as a 55-year-old Punxsutawney man, was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance.

The name of the driver was not released.

DUI in Punxsutawney Borough

Around 1:19 a.m. on July 10, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt on White Alley and West Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, for a summary traffic violation.

Police say upon further investigation the driver of the vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Kayla Cielo, of Punxsutawney, was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Charges are pending blood test results.

Harassment in Pine Creek Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police investigated a report of verbal harassment of a known 24-year-old male victim from DuBois that allegedly occurred at the Jefferson County Jail in Pine Creek Township between July 16 and July 20.

Police say 41-year-old Andrew Iannacchoine, of Big Run, was cited with summary harassment through District Court 54-3-03.
