State Police Calls: Additional Incidents of Unemployment-Related Identity Thefts Reported

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police are investigating the following calls:

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Young Township

Around noon on August 13, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident of identity theft where an unknown individual filed for unemployment using personal information belonging to a 33-year-old Punxsutawney woman.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Clover Township

On August 13, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident of identity theft where an unknown individual filed for unemployment using personal information belonging to a 36-year-old Corsica woman.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Perry Township

On August 12, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident of identity theft where an unknown individual filed for unemployment using personal information belonging to a 63-year-old Punxsutawney woman.

The investigations are ongoing.
