State Police Calls: Area Man Accused of Tampering With Ignition Interlock in Punxsutawney Borough

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following incidents:

Area Man Accused of Tampering With Ignition Interlock in Punxsutawney Borough

PSP Punxsutawney conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado near Hampton Avenue and Torrence Street in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County, at 10:09 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7.

Police say the owner/operator—a known 47-year-old Indiana man—tampered with the onboard ignition interlock to bypass its functionality.

Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office.

Burglary Investigation Underway in Barnett Township

Marienville-based State Police are currently investigating a burglary that occurred on State Route 36, in Barnett Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the incident occurred sometime between 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, and 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7.

This incident remains open, pending further investigation.
