State Police Calls: DUI Arrests, Identity Theft

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police are investigating the following calls:

DUI in Gaskill Township

Around 7:28 a.m. on August 13, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2014 Kia on Route 36 in Gaskill Township.

Police say the driver, a known 30-year-old St. Marys woman, was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and charges are pending.

The driver’s name was not released.

DUI in Clover Township

Around 7:10 p.m. on August 17, Punxsutawney-based State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 BMW on Yount Road in Summerville Borough for an equipment violation.

Police say during the traffic stop, the driver, a 27-year-old Hawthorn man, appeared to be impaired and was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.

The driver’s name was not released.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in McCalmont Township

Around 12:01 a.m. on August 8, Punxsutawney-based State Police received a report of theft by deception/identity theft.

Police say a known 57-year-old Punxsutawney woman reported someone had stolen her identity.

The investigation is ongoing.
