State Police Calls: DUI Arrests

JEFFERSON/CLEARFIELD CO., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Bell Township

Around 2:10 p.m. on October 20, DuBois-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Ford Escape on Airport Road in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the driver, identified as 31-year-old Russell Bloom, of DuBois, displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was subsequently arrested for DUI.

According to police, a consent search of the vehicle was then conducted during which a smoking pipe containing suspected marijuana residue was seized.

Bloom refused a blood draw, police say.

Charges are pending.

DUI in Sandy Township

DuBois-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2008 Chevrolet HHR on Bee Line Highway near Landis Road in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, around 12:46 p.m on October 20, for a summary equipment violation.

Police say the driver, identified as a 61-year-old Penfield man, displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was subsequently arrested for DUI.

The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the driver was not released.
