State Police Calls: Motorcycle Police Chase Ends in Crash in Clearfield County

CLEARFIELD CO., Pa. (EYT) — Area state police responded to the following incidents, according to reports released on Wednesday, April 17:

Motorcycle Police Chase Ends in Crash in Clearfield County

Clearfield-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2001 Honda motorcycle that was driving along State Route 153 in Woodward Township, Clearfield County, around 2:01 a.m. on Sunday, April 14.

Police say a pursuit ensued after a stop was attempted.

The motorcycle became disabled when the operator—listed as a 24-year-old Philipsburg man—went off the road along Henderson Street.

The operator was subsequently taken into custody.

Man Arrested for Various Offenses

PSP DuBois made contact with a known 40-year-old man near Salem Road and Pond Lane, in Brady Township, Clearfield County, as he was walking down the middle of the roadway around 1:53 a.m. on Sunday, April 14.

Police say the man was determined to be a suspect in a prior retail theft incident and was taken into custody.

During a search of his person, the man was in possession of drug paraphernalia and altered prescription bottles containing medications, police said.

Charges are pending through District Judge David Meholick’s office.

The suspects’ names were not released.
