State Police Calls: Troopers Make Pair of DUI Arrests

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the following incidents:

DUI in McCalmont Township

PSP Punxsutawney conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee near Main Street in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County, around 7:14 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.

Police say the operator of the vehicle—a 55-year-old Punxsutawney woman—was suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

Field sobriety tests were conducted, police noted.

This investigation is ongoing.

DUI in Punxsutawney

Troopers stopped a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta for a traffic violation on Clark Street in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County, at 3:18 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.

Police say a 48-year-old Punxsutawney woman was found to be driving under the influence.

Charges are pending.
