State Police Fire Marshal Investigates Blaze in Ringgold Township

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and Ringgold Area Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that occurred around 4:17 p.m. on March 16 on Steve’s Lane, in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say the fire destroyed a 2005 Peterbilt Log Truck and damaged a 40×60′ garage.

According to police, the fire originated in the engine compartment of the log truck, and it was determined to be the result of an accidental cause.

There were no injuries.

Damage was estimated at $100,000.00.

Dayton, Perry Township, and Oliver Township Fire Departments assisted the Ringgold Area Fire Department at the scene.
