SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – State Police in DuBois are investigating the cause of a fire in Treasure Lake, Sandy Township, Clearfield County.
According to police, an accidental fire occurred at around 2:00 a.m. on July 18 in Treasure Lake, Sandy Township.
The fire originated at an outside wall gas fireplace and progressed through the flue cavity and through the roof structure.
Damage is estimated at approximately $200,000.00.
Police report there were strong storms in the area at the time of the fire, and lighting may have been a factor in the cause.
The investigation is continuing.
