State Police Release Details on Hit and Run Involving Mayport Man

PORTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a hit and run accident occurred on Rankin Road, in Porter Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 2:00 a.m. on August 4, 21-year-old Willis B. Gruver, of Mayport, was traveling westbound on Rankin Road in a 2011 Nissan Sentra. As Gruver was attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway, he lost control of the Nissan. The vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck guidelines to a utility pole.

Gruver fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle at its final position of rest, which was in the guide wires, according to police.

The vehicle sustained major damage.

Gruver was not injured.

He was charged with several traffic violations.

No other information was released.
