Strong Storms Down Trees, Power Lines Throughout Region; Thousands Lose Power

10440832_891998490816798_3285286448926962249_nCLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Strong storms moved through the region late Tuesday causing downed trees and power lines, leaving thousands without power.

The storms moved through between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 12:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Emergency crews were dispatched for reports of downed power lines on area roadways, including Miola Road in Highland Township and JB Knight Road in Ashland Township.

Dozens of downed trees were also reported throughout Clarion County and surrounding areas.

As of 1:33 a.m., 272 customers in Clarion County were without power, according to FirstEnergy.

The storm also hit hard in surrounding counties, leaving thousands of customers without power in Armstrong, Forest, Jefferson, and Venango Counties.

No injuries have been reported.
