Sue Anne DeMotte

Sue Anne DeMotte, 81, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

She was born on October 22, 1936, in Brookville, PA, to Albert “Cuffy” and Frances M. DeMotte. She graduated from Brookville High School in 1954 and Robert Morris Business School in 1957. Sue managed Sue Anne’s Dress Shop in Brookville and later worked for McMurray Company.

She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, S. White St., Brookville, PA. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Her friends were always an important part of her life. It was important to her to remember all birthdays and those who were ill, with cards. She really liked the luncheons with high school friends in later years. Her thank you notes were always beautifully written even after the smallest kindness she had received. Sue and her special friend, Don Knapp, were regulars at their favorite restaurants each evening.

Sue is survived by her sister, Nora D. Snyder, her sister-in-law, Nancy S. DeMotte, nephews Christopher S. Snyder and Guy R. DeMotte, niece, Ann D. Sunealitis, great-niece, Amy L. Sunealitis and Great-nephew, Jon R. Sunealitis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard M. DeMotte.         

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.

Interment will be in the Butler Cemetery, Pine Creek Twp., Jefferson County.

Memorial donations may be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church, S. White St., Brookville, PA, or the Willow Run Animal Sanctuary, 381 E. Branch Rd., Brookville, PA, 15825.

A time for family and friends to remember Sue will be Sunday, May 27, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the G.B. Carrier House Inn, 365 Main Street, Brookville, PA.
