Suhan Helps Brookville Softball Beat Brockway


BROOKVILLE, Pa. (D9Sports) – Megrah Suhan was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead Brookville to a 12-2, five-inning win over visiting Brockway.

Julie McWilliams was also 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Aleah Ames was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Carlie McManigle got the win going five innings allowing two unearned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Morgan Lindemuth was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Brockway.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 12, ALTOONA 0, 5 INNINGS

ALTOONA, Pa. – Kendal Johnston threw a 1-hit, five-inning shutout to lead visiting Punxsutawney to a 12-0 win over Altoona.

Johnston walked two and struck out six.

Johnston helped herself at the plate going 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, a run scored and an RBI.

Grace Aikens and Sarah Weaver hit home runs for the Lady Chucks with Weaver going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs and Aikens going 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Also for Punxsutawney, Riley Presloid was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs and Elliot Ferrent was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Abby Smearman had the lone hit for Altoona.
DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 14, KANE 0, 5 INNINGS

KANE, Pa. – Avery Sickeri went 3-for-3 including a double, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to a 14-0, five-inning victory at Kane.

Mia Meholick was also 2-for-2 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs for the Lady Cardinals while Alyssa Bittner went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Ashley Wruble doubled while going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Maia Cogley singled and had two runs scored.

Ella Marconi and Rachel Haight each singled to pace the Lady Wolves offense.

Wruble got the win for DCC with three strikeouts and no hits allowed in three innings in the circle. Madison Hoyt gave up a pair of hits and had four strikeouts in the final two innings

Madison Stahli had a strikeout in the loss for Kane.

CLEARFIELD 4, PENNS VALLEY 1

HYDE, Pa. – Emma Hipps had a double while going 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI to help Clearfield defeat visiting Penns Valley, 4-1.

Lauren Ressler drove in two runs while going 1-for-3 with a double and run scored for the Lady Bison. Alexis Bumbarger and Kyra Mollura each had doubles.

Lydia Collison went 2-for-3 with a run scored to pace the Lady Rams.

Hipps had six strikeouts and gave up three hits and a run to earn the victory for Clearfield.

Kendra Bumgardner gave up six hits, four runs, three unearned and had three strikeouts in the loss for Penns Valley.
