Susan F. McElroy, age 72, Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Susan was born April 1, 1945 in Fort Worth, TX.
On December 31, 1965, she married William V. McElroy. He survives.
Susan retired from the Army Air Force Exchange Service after over 25 years of service.
She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing Mahjong. She was a volunteer at Hahne Cancer Center in DuBois, PA and a member of the Ladies of the Lake. At Arlington National Cemetery, she was an Arlington Lady, never allowing a U.S. Soldier to be buried alone. Above all, she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by two daughters (Lori Fitzhugh and her husband, Tom of Woodbridge, VA and Jeanette Calli of Woodbridge, VA); three sisters (Judy Partington and her husband, Richard of Phoenix, AZ; Helen Embery of Kansas City, KS and Beth Henderson and her husband, Jack of Marble Falls, TX). She is also survived by five grandchildren (Devin Taylor; Riley Fitzhugh, and Will, Charlotte and Julia Calli).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 4 P.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
