Sylvia R. (Beck) Johnson, 76, of Burnside, PA died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at her home in Burnside, PA.
The daughter of Herman O. and Kathryn (Buterbaugh) Beck, she was born in Burnside, PA on November 20, 1938.
Sylvia was a graduate of Harmony High School.
She enjoyed watching Rev. Bob Myers gospel ministry on television and loved spending time with her grandchildren. In her spare time, she derived great pleasure from doing counted cross-stitch, crossword puzzles and going camping.
Sylvia married her late husband, George Elmer Johnson on January 29, 1955.
She is survived by her four children: James F. Johnson of Kent, PA; Kathryn L. Yackuboskey of Homer City, PA; Kimberly A. Fontanese of Clymer, PA; and Ryan E. Johnson and wife Tracy A. of Valier, PA; and her grandchildren: Missy Fontanese, Ricky Fontanese, Brayden Johnson and Carrie Johnson.
Sylvia is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Janice Gardner of Hastings, PA; Leonard Beck and wife Kathy of Liverpool, PA; Aaron Beck and wife Bernice of Richland, Missouri and her sister-in-law, Candy Beck of Minot, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George on April 2, 2013, two grandsons: Nathan Yackuboskey and Clayton Johnson; son-in-law, Bill Yackuboskey and brother, Oscar Beck.
Family and friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, June 5th at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6th with Pastor Mark Myers officiating. Interment will be at the Burnside Cemetery in Burnside, PA.
