Teen Driver Injured After Vehicle Slams into Tree in Winslow Township

WINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a teen driver was injured when her vehicle slammed into a tree on Stevenson Hill Road in Winslow Township on Saturday night.

According to DuBois-based State Police, around 8:13 p.m. on October 23, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Stevenson Hill Road, near its intersection with Irish Mary Road, in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 18-year-old Maya L. Legrand, of Hastings, Pa., was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt traveling south on Stevenson Hill Road when she was unable to negotiate a left curve and the vehicle went off the west side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Legrand suffered possible minor injuries and was transported from the scene by Reynoldsville Area Ambulance Service to Penn Highlands Hospital.

She was using a seat belt.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Jewell’s Towing.

Legrand was cited for a traffic violation.
