Teen Killed, Another Person Injured in UTV Accident in Winslow Township

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Sources say around 2:00 a.m. yesterday morning, a teenage girl was killed and another female was injured in a utility vehicle accident along Sprague Hill Road, in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

According to a published article in wjactv.com, 19-year-old Lexie Wise, of DuBois, was killed when the UTV she was driving went down an embankment and hit a large tree.

Police say Wise was allegedly speeding when she lost control of the utility vehicle while rounding a bend in the roadway.

Jefferson County coroner pronounced her dead at the scene, according to police.

A passenger on the UTV, 20-year-old Shannon Thompson, of Reynoldsville, suffered serious injuries in the crash, police say.

She was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Both women were wearing seat belts but were not wearing helmets.
