Terrell R AtwellTerrell R. Atwell, age 79, of Glasshurt Road Brockport, PA; died on Sunday May 7, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born June 25, 1937 in Port Arthur, TX, he was the son of the late William and Donna Eugenia (Fleming) Atwell.

On September 15, 1961, he married Martha Jane Griffen in Franklin, PA; and she survives.

Terrell served in the United States Army in Korea after the end of the Korean conflict.

He graduated from Grove City College in 1961 and began a 25-year career at the Brockway Glass Company in the Computer and Accounting Departments.

He later worked as Business Manager of the Brockway Area School District.

Terrell was an active member of the Brockway Presbyterian Church where he volunteered for many years as Church Treasurer.

He loved to fish, hunt and to tell stories about the big one that got away.

He will be remembered as someone who cared deeply about his family, his friends, and especially his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Martha, he is also survived by two daughters, Rev. Anne Atwell (Amy Walker) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Katherine (Stephen) Valenzi of Boca Raton, FL; a son Scott (Melissa) Atwell of St. Marys, PA, and seven grandchildren; Samuel, Stephen, Lauren, Rachel, Andrew, Michael, and Benjamin.

Terrell is also survived by four sisters, Florence (Vernon) Barker of Titusville, PA; Metta (Raymond) Banyas of North Olmstead, OH; Twila Keane of Rocky River, OH; and Areta (Kenneth) Mong of Franklin, PA and a brother Eugene (Charlean) Atwell of New Castle, PA.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Fleming and Arthur, and three sisters, Turzah Gardner, Jesse Timmis and Norma, who died in infancy, and two nephews, Steven Atwell and Paul Barker.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, May 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 11 at 11:00 AM at the Brockway Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Brockway, PA with Rev. Christopher McCloskey officiating.

Burial will follow in the Beechwoods Cemetery.
