Theo ‘Ted’ A. Thompson

Theo “Ted” A. Thompson, 86, of Brookville, PA, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital, DuBois, PA.

Mr. Thompson was born on December 7, 1928 in Seattle, Washington, to Allen and Theodora (Bailey) Thompson.

On February 23, 1952 he married Jean (Rausch) Thompson. She survives and resides in Brookville.

Mr. Thompson received a Masters Degree in Forestry from Yale University, which helped him in his occupation in Sales and as an Operations Manager in the Particle Board and Paper Industry.

Ted was a U.S. Army veteran and an active member of the community. He was a member of the Brookville Lions Club, Society of American Foresters, and a volunteer for the Office of the Aging. In his personal life, he liked to travel and he was a dedicated husband and father.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Jean; one daughter, Susan Thompson of State College; three sons, Douglas Thompson and wife Annabel from Temecula, California; Kenneth Thompson and wife Kathleen of Woodbine, New Jersey; and Richard Thompson and wife Laurie of Greeneville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Curtis and husband Robert of Washington; and Jean Forsander and husband Larry of Texas.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Brookville, PA.

Memorial donations may be made to the Brookville Lions Club or the Rebecca M. Arthurs Library, Brookville, Pa.
